Nizahah Participates in the Meeting of the Deputies Committee on Combating Corruption for GCC Countries

Kuwait City, September 14 (KUNA) – The State of Kuwait, represented by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nizahat), participated in the 11th meeting of the Deputies Committee on Combating Corruption of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held via video conferencing and chaired by Dr. Majed Al-Daihani, Deputy Chairman of Nizahat.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Nizahat said that Dr. Al-Daihani praised the Gulf efforts to strengthen the integrity system and combat corruption, amid rising international demands to consolidate integrity values and enhance supervisory frameworks. He emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to cooperating with GCC countries and highlighted their key initiatives within the framework of the Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption.

The statement added that the meeting discussed a project submitted by Kuwait to unify Gulf efforts aimed at preventing and combating corruption, and to establish a mechanism to regulate the work of the Experts Committee on Combating Corruption in GCC countries. The project aims to govern and organize the Experts Committee’s work to enhance coordination among member states. It also seeks to unify opinions and positions in relevant regional and international forums, in line with the aspirations of the heads of anti-corruption authorities in GCC countries.

The meeting discussed the GCC countries’ competition for research and studies in the fields of integrity protection and anti-corruption for 2026, titled “Combating Corruption through Non-Judicial Means: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Experiences,” and reviewed the results of research evaluations submitted by referees appointed from GCC countries.

Additionally, the meeting discussed holding a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Enhancing Integrity and Compliance in the Private Sector,” as well as the recommendations of the Gulf workshop held last July, titled “Combating Corruption and Identifying Beneficial Ownership in GCC Countries,” which was organized by Nizahat in coordination with the General Secretariat of the GCC.

Nizahat’s participation in this meeting reflects the State of Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening joint Gulf efforts in preventing and combating corruption, and its keenness to make an active contribution to safeguarding the values of integrity and transparency, in service of the societies of GCC countries.
