Egyptian Ambassador: Humanitarian cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt enhances efforts to accelerate crisis response

Kuwait City, Sept 14 (KUNA) — The Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohamed Abu Al-Wafa, affirmed on Monday that humanitarian cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt reflects the deep fraternal and historical ties between the two countries and contributes to enhancing crisis response efforts and supporting those affected.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after meeting with Khaled Al-Mugammas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Abu Al-Wafa stated that Kuwait plays a pioneering humanitarian role through the support and aid it provides to affected communities in various regions around the world. He praised the role played by the Kuwait Red Crescent in translating Kuwait’s humanitarian stances into field initiatives.

He added that cooperation between the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Kuwait Red Crescent covers several humanitarian files, particularly the provision of relief aid to the Gaza Strip in health, food, and humanitarian sectors, including Kuwait’s establishment of a field hospital in Palestine.

He noted that the Egyptian Red Crescent possesses extensive technical and logistical capacities and field expertise in handling crises, which would contribute to enhancing integration opportunities with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and developing joint response mechanisms. He pointed out that the meeting discussed prospects for future cooperation in Gaza and other areas experiencing humanitarian crises.

For his part, Khaled Al-Mugammas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, stated in a similar remark to KUNA that Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations represent a solid model of cooperation and integration across various fields, particularly in the humanitarian and relief sectors. He highlighted the Society’s commitment to strengthening communication with Egyptian humanitarian institutions and exchanging expertise.

Al-Mugammas said that cooperation between the Kuwait and Egyptian Red Crescents is an extension of the fraternal and historical relations between the two countries, clarifying that shared experiences, particularly in responding to urgent humanitarian situations in the Gaza Strip, have proven the importance of coordination among humanitarian institutions to accelerate the delivery of aid to its rightful beneficiaries.

He affirmed the Society’s commitment to developing cooperation with the Egyptian side and opening new areas for partnership, which would contribute to improving response efficiency, enhancing coordination, and exchanging expertise, while praising the role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in supporting humanitarian and relief operations.
