Tunis, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- The Arab Radio and Television Union announced on Monday that the artistic performances of the 26th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, to be held from September 21 to 24 in Tunisia under the theme “The Pulse of the Image and the Echo of the Future,” will feature the participation of many Arab artists.
In a press release, the union stated that the festival’s events will include honoring a number of stars from Arab television, radio, and cinema, as well as media personalities from Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, the Sultanate of Oman, Iraq, Mauritania, Tunisia, and the Comoros, in recognition of their contributions to the development of the Arab artistic and media landscape.
It noted that the ancient theater in Carthage will host the opening ceremony, which is expected to be a prominent artistic and media event. The opening will be enlivened by Syrian star Nasser Al-Zaitoun and Iraqi artist Rahma Riad, in a performance blending music and singing, adding a festive, popular atmosphere to the occasion.
The closing ceremony will feature an artistic evening at the Opera House in the City of Culture in the Tunisian capital, combining music with celebrations of Arab media creativity through the world premiere of the musical work “Safar Ilayk Wa Ghann” (Travel to You and Sing). This orchestral performance offers a musical vision that evokes the muwal, a deeply rooted aesthetic value in Arab music, and reinterprets it through an arrangement that blends the authenticity of heritage with a spirit of innovation.
A select group of Arab artists will participate in this evening, reflecting the diversity of the Arab artistic scene and the festival’s openness to experiences and voices from various countries. The lineup includes Abdullah Tariq from Kuwait, Yaqub Shaheen from Palestine, Firas Fayez from the Sultanate of Oman, Mamoun Suwar Al-Dhahab from Sudan, Hanin Al-Shater from Egypt, and Ksila Agard from Algeria.
The closing evening will also crown the winners of the main and parallel radio and television competitions, alongside the new media competition, announcing the laureates and celebrating the most prominent media productions participating in the edition.
The Arab Radio and Television Festival is considered one of the most important Arab events that bring together stars of art and media, as well as professionals in the audio and visual sectors. (End) S.B.M / A.M.H
