Finance: Army announces elimination of militants in central Kuwait
Algiers, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mali announced on Sunday the elimination of several “terrorist elements” who were riding motorcycles in the southwestern part of the city of Dioura, as part of ongoing aerial and ground operations against the attackers of this city located in the center of the country.
In a statement, the General Staff said that “the Malian Armed Forces, in cooperation with their partners, carried out precise strikes on two bases containing war equipment and logistical supplies, which had been identified in the outskirts of the town of Wan in the Sana region.”
It added that “armed men possessing military equipment, distributed across various locations in the outskirts of and within the city of Kidal in northern Mali, were also successfully engaged on Saturday.”
The statement noted that “sites in the southeastern part of the Velesebe region were precisely targeted last Friday, containing war equipment and logistical supplies, including numerous motorcycles, based on accurate intelligence information.”
In late April, armed groups launched a series of coordinated and simultaneous attacks in various parts of the country, during which Mali’s Minister of Defense, Sadio Camara, was killed. (End) M.R. / M.M.J.
