Ministry of Youth and Sports Launches Kuwait Youth and Sports Season and Announces New Visual Identity

Kuwait City, Sept 13 (KUNA) — The Public Authority for Youth and Sports launched today, Sunday, the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” project, aimed at organizing and developing youth and sports activities in the country, alongside unveiling the new visual identity following the merger of the Youth Authority and the Sports Authority.

The launch took place during a special ceremony held at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, under the patronage of the Council of Ministers, and attended by the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, and the Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Sabah.

Speaking at the event, Minister Al-Jalahma stated that the Authority launched the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” as a national initiative bringing together the public and private sectors, aimed at organizing and developing youth and sports activities in the State of Kuwait through a strategic partnership with Kuwait Finance House.

He added that the Authority grants an official accreditation system to entities and initiatives that effectively contribute to organizing sports, cultural, and youth events and activities.

He emphasized that the Season contributes to enhancing the State of Kuwait’s standing as a primary destination for hosting global sports, cultural, and youth events, and boosting its presence at both the regional and international levels.

He clarified that the Season aims to attract participants and visitors from within Kuwait and abroad, thereby supporting economic and tourism movements and offering a comprehensive experience that reflects Kuwait’s status and organizational capabilities.

Minister Al-Jalahma highlighted that the Season has a significant impact on stimulating the economy by activating several vital sectors, including hotels, transportation, telecommunications, and restaurants, due to increased attendance at events and activities.

He added that it creates new job opportunities and contributes to stimulating local and international investment through projects related to events and infrastructure, noting that it attracts sponsors and companies to invest in the sports and cultural sectors, thereby enhancing the long-term sustainability of events.

For his part, Waleed Al-Saqqabi, Project Director of the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season,” revealed the new visual identity of the Authority in a similar speech. He stated that the new visual identity of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports was inspired by the national identity of the State of Kuwait, based on visual elements and colors derived from the state emblem.

Al-Saqqabi added that the logo was designed to mimic the shape of the traditional Kuwaiti dhow sail, considered one of the national symbols of the maritime heritage, making it a symbol of dynamism and progress. Additionally, the falcon’s beak embodies values of strength, pride, and loftiness, as well as the Kuwaiti person’s connection to the desert environment.

He explained that the three elements composing the logo represent different youth age stages, with each appearing distinctly in the head and body, reflecting diversity and integration. These elements unite to form a single composition that expresses the Authority’s embrace of all youth categories within a framework that unites them toward common goals.
