Egyptian President reaffirms to his Iranian counterpart the necessity of halting any attacks on Arab states

Cairo, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday the necessity of halting any aggression against Arab states, in order to uphold the principles of good neighborliness and strengthen the historical and cultural ties binding the peoples of the region. The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, said in a statement that el-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s firm and steadfast position in supporting efforts to restore stability in the region during the meeting held in the Indian capital (New Delhi) on the sidelines of the 18th summit of the BRICS group of countries. The spokesperson added that el-Sisi expressed Egypt’s aspiration for Iran to make all possible efforts to halt escalation and reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful settlement of the crisis, thereby safeguarding the sovereignty of the region’s states and protecting the resources and well-being of their peoples.
