Ministry of Oil delegation visits KUNA, reviews its operational mechanisms and news services
Kuwait City, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- A delegation from the Ministry of Oil visited the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) headquarters on Sunday, where it reviewed the operational mechanisms across the various departments of the editorial sector and their news services, particularly the Information and Research Center and the KUNA Smart Oasis, as well as other editorial departments.
During the visit, the delegation received a detailed explanation from Acting Editor-in-Chief Badr Al-Sharhan and managers of the editorial departments regarding daily workflows, the stages of writing, editing, and broadcasting news content in Arabic, English, and French through KUNA’s general bulletin and its social media platforms. They also learned about image processing, post drafting, and the selection of appropriate headlines.
The delegation closely examined the KUNA Information and Research Center, its role, and its scientific and professional methodology in handling news and information. Center officials presented a comprehensive overview of archiving processes, as well as the collection, classification, and organization of news materials and various media formats broadcast by the agency. They also discussed the preparation of reports, studies, periodicals, and research publications issued by the center.
Additionally, the delegation was introduced to the KUNA Smart Oasis, its operational nature, and its significance in aligning with modern media concepts and utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in media content production and delivery.
In this context, Sheikh Tamadur Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media at the Ministry of Oil, stated that the visit to KUNA represented an important opportunity to closely observe the agency’s experience and professional expertise in editorial, digital, and media operations. She noted that the visit highlighted the modern mechanisms and technologies employed in content production and management, reflecting KUNA’s advanced national expertise and its firmly established position in the local media landscape.
Sheikh Tamadur Al-Sabah added that the visit facilitated the exchange of experiences and practical insights in several areas prioritized for developing media operations, notably digital media, the application of artificial intelligence in content creation, and mechanisms for verifying news and professionally handling misinformation and rumors.
She emphasized that learning from successful national experiences constitutes an important pathway for developing petroleum media tools and enhancing their capabilities to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the media industry.
She clarified that the Ministry places utmost importance on strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange with national media institutions, noting that the visit marks a significant step toward enhancing collaborative areas between the Ministry and KUNA. This mutual benefit from the expertise and resources available to both parties will support the development of media performance, improve the efficiency of specialized content production in the oil and gas sector, and enhance the ability to reach the audience in a professional and reliable manner.
