More than 300 settlers breach the Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy protection by the Israeli occupation police

Ramallah, September 13 (KUNA) -- The Jerusalem Governorate reported that more than 300 settlers breached the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound today, Sunday, under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police, coinciding with what is referred to as the “Hebrew New Year.” The Governorate stated in a press release that the settlers carried out provocative tours within the mosque’s courtyards and performed “Talmudic rituals,” amid tightened security measures by the occupation authorities around the mosque and the Old City, in line with calls issued by so-called “Temple” groups to intensify incursions during the “Hebrew New Year” days. It noted that these incursions are part of a continuous escalation targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the “Jewish holidays” season, alongside decisions to expel Jerusalem residents from the mosque. The Jerusalem Governorate clarified that the number of expulsion orders from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound that it has been able to monitor and document since the beginning of the current year until today has reached approximately 850.
