Egyptian and French Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments and De-escalation Efforts in Phone Call

Cairo, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, to discuss regional developments and efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday that Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s intensive efforts to contain escalation in the region, emphasizing the importance of returning to the negotiation track between the United States and Iran.

According to the statement, Abdelatty stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomatic solutions and creating favorable conditions to resume negotiations, which would contribute to reducing tensions, preventing the confrontation from widening, and preserving the security and stability of the region.

The statement clarified that the two ministers exchanged views and assessments on developments regarding the Palestinian issue and recent developments in the Gaza Strip, as well as situations in Sudan, Libya, and Lebanon, and the efforts made to address existing crises and support political settlement processes.
