Saudi Pro League: Al Hilal defeats Al-Taawoun 6-0 to top the standings
Riyadh, September 12 (KUNA) -- Al Hilal defeated host Al Taawoun 6-0 on Saturday in a match played at Al Taawoun Club’s stadium in Buraydah, as part of the seventh round of the Saudi Professional League’s Roshn League. Al Hilal asserted their dominance from the opening whistle and ended the first half with a 3-0 lead, with goals scored by English striker Ollie Watkins in the ninth minute and Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli with two goals in the 18th and 43rd minutes. Al Hilal continued their superiority in the second half, as Martinelli added a fourth goal in the 50th minute. Three minutes later, Watkins extended the lead to 5-0 with his second goal in the 53rd minute, while Sultan Mandash completed the six-goal tally in the 75th minute. With this victory, Al Hilal moved to 18 points to top the league standings, while Al Taawoun remained on three points in 17th place. (End)
