Saudi Foreign Minister and his British counterpart discuss regional developments and navigation security in waterways
Riyadh, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks today with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy on regional developments and the importance of enhancing security and freedom of navigation in waterways. The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call received by Prince Faisal bin Farhan from Lammy, who reiterated his country’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia in light of the attacks launched by the Houthi militia. The British foreign minister, according to the statement, stressed Saudi Arabia’s right to take necessary measures to defend its security and assets under international law. The statement added that the two sides discussed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to ensure security and freedom of navigation in waterways, which would contribute to enhancing regional security and stability and protecting global trade and supply chains from the repercussions of the current crisis.
