Lebanon strongly condemns the attack on the East-West pipeline in Saudi Arabia

Beirut, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- Lebanon today, Saturday, strongly condemned the attack targeting the East-West oil pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in injuries and material damage. The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed, in a statement, Lebanon’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, and its firm commitment to the security, stability, and territorial integrity of the Kingdom, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery. The statement affirmed that targeting vital facilities and civilian infrastructure constitutes a “serious violation” of the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, as well as the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law, which mandate the protection of civilians and civilian objects from hostile acts.
