9 Palestinians injured in Israeli military strike on a displaced persons' camp south of Gaza Strip

Gaza, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced on Saturday that nine Palestinians were injured in an Israeli occupation drone strike that targeted a displacement camp in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that the strike hit a tent near Street Five in a densely populated area of displacement camps, resulting in nine injuries. The victims were transported to hospitals for treatment. For her part, the Palestinian health authorities said in their daily report that ten Palestinians were killed and 56 others were injured over the past 48 hours, while a large number of victims remain trapped under the rubble. It added that the number of martyrs since the ceasefire began on October 11 last year has risen to 1,369, with 4,627 injured, in addition to the recovery of the bodies of 831 martyrs. The overall toll since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, stands at approximately 73,783 martyrs and 174,738 injured. This targeting comes as Israeli occupation airstrikes and shelling continue across various parts of the Gaza Strip, amid the presence of large numbers of displaced persons in shelters and tents.
