Egyptian Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Developments with His UAE and Algerian Counterparts

Cairo, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty held two phone calls today, Friday, with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf, to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the regional situation.

A statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Minister Abdelatty and his UAE counterpart discussed recent regional developments and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region in recent weeks, within the framework of continuous communication and coordination between the two brotherly countries.

In a separate development, the Egyptian Foreign Minister and his Algerian counterpart discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields, emphasizing the importance of following up on the implementation of the outcomes of the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Supreme Joint Commission, which was held in Cairo last November, and working to strengthen economic and trade cooperation and explore new areas of collaboration to serve the common interests of the two countries.

The two ministers also exchanged views on several regional issues, emphasizing the importance of continuing consultation and coordination within the framework of the trilateral neighborhood mechanism regarding Libya, in order to support efforts aimed at achieving security and stability and meeting the aspirations of the Libyan people.
