New Delhi, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the BRICS group possesses the potential to enhance resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability among countries of the Global South. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that this remark came during a meeting between Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS summit hosted by India, where they discussed bilateral issues and developments in West Asia. The ministry added that during the talks, Modi reiterated India’s firm stance that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing the need to continue efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region, protect freedom of navigation and trade, and guarantee the safety of seafarers. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in India today on an official visit to participate in the 18th BRICS summit, themed “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,” which will be held tomorrow, Saturday.
