Saudi Civil Defense declares the threat has passed over Abha and Khamis Mushait following the activation of the early warning system

Riyadh, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Civil Defense announced on Thursday that the threat had passed in the city of Abha and the province of Khamis Mushait, following the activation of early warning systems in both areas. Earlier, the Saudi Civil Defense had issued an early warning via its official account on the X platform for Abha and Khamis Mushait, urging adherence to safety guidelines and instructions issued by the competent authorities. In a statement, the Civil Defense called for calm and directed people to immediately move to the nearest safe location inside a building or an interior room away from windows, and to remain there until the threat subsided. It advised against leaving homes or buildings, avoiding open areas and glass, and refraining from standing on balconies or rooftops. It also stressed the importance of entering the nearest building or taking shelter behind a solid barrier when outdoors, avoiding gatherings and filming, and staying away from hazardous sites. Drivers were urged to pull over to the side of the road, away from bridges and tall buildings. The Civil Defense emphasized the importance of calling the emergency number (998) upon noticing any danger and following instructions issued by the competent authorities through official channels.
