Acting Minister of Information and Culture Participates in the Tenth Meeting of Gulf Ministers Responsible for Tourism in Manama

Manama, Sept 10 (KUNA) – State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar participated today, Thursday, in the tenth meeting of the ministers responsible for tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting, chaired by Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al-Sirafi and attended by GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi and the tourism ministers of the GCC states, emphasized the importance of continuing joint Gulf efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination in the tourism sector, develop collaborative Gulf initiatives, and thereby support the tourism sector, strengthen its foundations, and bolster the standing of the GCC countries as a regional and international tourist destination. The meeting also addressed a number of topics and issues related to developing the tourism sector, enhancing cooperation, and exchanging expertise and experiences among the GCC states, in order to support joint tourism initiatives and projects and contribute to revitalizing tourist flows within the GCC. Kuwait’s participation in the meeting underscores its commitment to developing the tourism sector and strengthening Gulf cooperation in this field, in line with the rapid regional and international developments in the sector and supporting the GCC states’ orientation toward diversifying the tourism product and leveraging the abundant assets of the Arab Gulf countries.
