Russia: 28 injured in drone attack targeting Sochi waterfront

Moscow, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Russian authorities announced on Thursday that 28 people, including two children, were injured in a drone attack targeting the Black Sea waterfront of the city of Sochi. In response, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had carried out strikes on military and logistical sites in southern Ukraine.

The regional operations center in Russia’s Krasnodar region said in a statement that the attack, which took place yesterday evening, resulted in injuries to 28 people, including two children, and caused damage to some waterfront facilities.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said its forces carried out strikes yesterday evening on several targets within Ukrainian territory. It specified that the strikes included a drone warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian forces in the Mykolaiv region, as well as facilities storing military supplies for Ukraine in the port of Chornomorsk.

In a related development, Ukraine has experienced widespread Russian attacks in recent days using missiles and drones, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Kyiv has announced counterstrikes on targets inside Russia.

Since the outbreak of the war in February 2022, Russia and Ukraine have continued to exchange aerial and missile strikes, targeting military and logistical sites and infrastructure, while international efforts to reach a settlement that would end the war persist. (End) D.A.N. / N.A.A.
