Barcelona defeats Feyenoord (5-1) in their Champions League opener
Madrid, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- Barcelona opened their campaign in this season’s UEFA Champions League with a comprehensive victory over Dutch side Feyenoord, winning 5-1 at the Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday in the competition’s opening round. The first half ended with the home side leading 2-0, thanks to goals from Brazilian winger Raphinha in the third minute and German striker Karim Adeyemi in the 22nd. In the second half, Raphinha added a third goal for the team and his second of the match in the 57th minute, while Lamine Yamal extended the lead with a fourth goal in the 77th minute. Gabriel Jesus sealed the victory with a fifth and final goal in the 85th minute. On the other side, Sime Stijn scored Feyenoord’s only goal in the 82nd minute, but the match ended with Barcelona securing their first three points in the 2026-2027 edition of the continental competition.
