Coalition for Legitimacy Support in Yemen: Houthi attacks confirm their extremist approach and ideology in escalation and targeting civilians

Riyadh, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen on Wednesday condemned the relentless and heinous attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia’s national assets and infrastructure, stating that such actions demonstrate the group’s extremist approach of escalation and targeting of civilians.

In a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, coalition spokesperson Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki said the terrorist Houthi militia continued its heinous attacks on Saudi national assets and infrastructure. He clarified that the militia carried out attacks today on the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Jizan using ballistic missiles and drones.

Al-Maliki affirmed that the coalition’s joint forces command would respond to these attacks responsibly to protect Saudi sovereignty and national assets, and to safeguard civilians and civilian objects from these heinous acts, in accordance with the principle of self-defense under international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter, as well as in compliance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
