Lebanese Army: 7,700 violations by Israeli occupation forces recorded since the signing of the Framework Agreement

Beirut, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Army announced on Wednesday that it had recorded 7,700 violations by the Israeli occupation against Lebanese territory since the signing of the Framework Agreement on June 26. In a statement, the Army command said that the Israeli occupation “has escalated its widespread attacks on residential areas and institutions over the past days, resulting in a large number of casualties, the latest being at least 12 dead, including children and women, in a massacre in the town of Kafr Kama in the Nabatieh district.” The statement added that “the continued escalation coincides with acts of demolition and bombing in the south, which contradicts international law, threatens existing understandings and arrangements, hinders the Army’s efforts to establish stability, and constitutes a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and security.” It clarified that “the Army expressed its full readiness to fulfill its commitments since the signing of the Framework Agreement and has begun taking the necessary measures to impose operational control in model areas, in coordination with the Special Military Coordination Group for Lebanon.” However, it stressed the importance of halting violations and Israeli occupation attacks, considering this “the fundamental factor for completing deployment and carrying out missions.” (End) f z / s a m
