Israeli occupation intensifies airstrikes on Gaza Strip, destroying several residential buildings

Gaza, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation army intensified its escalation of attacks on the Gaza Strip today, Wednesday, through a series of airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire targeting scattered areas in the north, south, and central parts of the Strip. This coincided with the issuance of urgent evacuation orders for civilians and displaced families in several areas, paving the way for their targeting.
Witnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that a severe Israeli airstrike hit a house in the Shati (Beach) camp in northwestern Gaza City, injuring several Palestinians. The blast was heard across wide parts of the city and caused panic and fear among civilians and displaced families in surrounding areas.
They added that the airstrike followed evacuation warnings issued by occupation forces for a residential block in the camp, which included adjacent houses, buildings, and educational and health facilities, before aircraft resumed targeting the area, resulting in the complete destruction of a house and the residential block.
The witnesses noted that the warnings forced several Palestinian families to hastily leave their locations, while confusion prevailed in the area due to continued Israeli aerial presence and civilians’ uncertainty about where to go to escape the shelling.
In the Al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza City, witnesses reported that ambulance crews transported a patient in critical condition after a protest was targeted. Another injury, caused by Israeli occupation fire, reached a field clinic north of the city, where the victim was prepared for transfer to a hospital.
Additionally, an occupation aircraft targeted a motorcycle on Al-Rashid Street in the Sheikh Ajlin area south of Gaza City, injuring two Palestinians in critical condition.
In Khan Younis city in the southern Strip, ambulance crews transported several victims of Israeli gunfire and shelling in various areas. A child shot in the neck near a school adjacent to the Nasser Medical Complex was also brought to the complex.
These developments come as the Israeli occupation army continues its military operations in various parts of the Gaza Strip, repeatedly targeting residential areas and displacement shelters, and forcing Palestinian civilians to flee their locations amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
