Deputy Minister of Education issues directive to regulate behavior and enhance discipline in schools
Kuwait City, 9 Sept (KUNA) – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Khaled Al-Rasheed, issued a circular today, Wednesday, outlining the regulations and prohibitions governing work and conduct within schools. The circular includes a set of rules organizing professional, administrative, and educational practices, emphasizing that all schools must comply with them.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Education said the circular mandates all schools and their teaching and administrative staff to adhere to a number of controls and prohibitions. Among the most prominent is the ban on collecting monetary amounts or accepting cash, in-kind, or other donations within the school from teachers, administrators, students, or parents for any purpose.
The ministry added that the circular prohibits the sale of goods or services to students and staff, as well as promoting or advertising them, or exploiting one’s position and school facilities for personal benefit. It also strictly bans the sale, distribution, or introduction of food or beverages from non-approved sources into the school for any reason, and prohibits operating the school cafeteria or offering products that do not comply with health regulations.
The ministry clarified that the circular also forbids organizing any event, activity, or celebration that involves hosting individuals from outside the Ministry of Education, or conducting any filming within the school premises without first obtaining explicit written approval from the competent authority within the ministry.
It emphasized the prohibition of using the school’s name or the Ministry of Education’s logo in any publications, advertisements, or commercial sponsorships without obtaining the approved administrative and official permissions and coordination.
The ministry pointed out the ban on filming, recording, publishing images or data of students without first obtaining written consent that meets the required controls, as well as the prohibition of circulating their images through private accounts or communication groups. It also banned linking students’ images with their personal information or using them outside their designated educational purpose.
Furthermore, the ministry highlighted the prohibition of disclosing or leaking school secrets, data, documents, or information pertaining to students, parents, and staff. It also banned publishing rumors, incorrect information, or any offensive content directed at the ministry, schools, students, or staff via social media or other means.
The circular stipulated that teaching staff must not use mobile phones or smart devices during class hours for non-educational purposes, in a manner that does not affect the performance of their duties or the flow of the lesson.
It stressed that “in the event of any actions or behaviors that violate systems and regulations or fall outside the framework of proper professional practices within the school, there will be no leniency.
