(Awaba) condemns and denounces the attacks targeting civilian, economic, and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia

Kuwait City, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) expressed its deep condemnation and strong disapproval of the attacks that targeted several cities and civilian, economic, and energy facilities in the southern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in injuries to civilians and material damage. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the organization affirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, economic assets, and the safety of its citizens and residents. It stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure and energy facilities constitutes a serious escalation that threatens not only the Kingdom’s security but also the security and stability of the region and the integrity of global energy supplies, and is contrary to the provisions of international law and international principles and charters. The General Secretariat wished the injured a swift recovery and prayed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people to enjoy continued peace, safety, and stability. (End) K.M. / M.K.
