Istanbul, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Shaybani, in the capital Ankara on Tuesday. Turkish diplomatic sources said that Al-Shaybani’s visit comes amid ongoing meetings and communications between Damascus and Ankara, as well as efforts by the two countries to expand cooperation and coordination in various political, economic, and security files. Al-Shaybani previously visited Ankara on August 6, where he held talks with Fidan, followed by a joint press conference, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and Turkey, agreeing to establish a Supreme Coordination Council between the two countries, as well as accelerating work on the “Four Seas Committee” and advancing the railway connectivity project.
