Turkey strongly condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and reaffirms its support for its sovereignty

Istanbul, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- Turkey strongly condemned on Tuesday the Houthi attacks in Yemen targeting Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its support for the kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “We most strongly condemn the Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, which disregard the safety of civilians’ lives and property and escalate tensions in the region.” It added, “We renew our support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” The ministry emphasized that the attacks also undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Yemen through a lasting political settlement, and called on the Houthis to cease their hostile actions as soon as possible. Earlier on Tuesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry announced that 73 civilians, including women and children, were injured in Houthi attacks targeting civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran.
