Jeddah, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Cabinet stressed on Tuesday that the Kingdom is resolute in defending its sovereignty, safeguarding the security of its citizens and residents, and preserving its national assets, while firmly rejecting the hostile approach and criminal behavior perpetuated by the extremist Houthi militia in threatening the stability of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic surroundings. The Saudi Press Agency reported that this statement came following a Cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
Following a review of recent developments and events in the region, the Cabinet affirmed that the Houthi terrorist militia committed a heinous aggression against civilian and economic infrastructure in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan, and Najran, and continued to target commercial ships in the Red Sea and international maritime navigation freedom. The Cabinet directed that the highest levels of medical care and attention be provided to those injured in these terrorist attacks, praying to Almighty Allah to grant them swift recovery and to perpetuate the Kingdom’s security and stability.
The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s support for joint Arab efforts to halt Israeli violations and aggressions against the city of Jerusalem and occupied areas, and to counter blatant measures in Palestine, expansionist policies, settlement activities, and displacement operations that contravene all international laws.
On another note, the Cabinet commended the achievements of the International Technology Conference (LEAP 2026), including the launch of initiatives, agreements, and investments totaling nearly $15 billion in fields such as artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, technological manufacturing, venture capital, and national capacity building, thereby reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership as a global destination for innovation and future-making.
