Arab Ministers of Interior Council strongly condemns attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Tunis, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- The Council of Arab Interior Ministers strongly condemned today, Tuesday, the Houthi attacks and assaults on the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Council’s General Secretariat stated in a statement that it received with deep condemnation “news of the Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran in Saudi Arabia,” which resulted in the injury of dozens of civilians, including women and children. It also noted the militias’ continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the threat to international maritime navigation freedom.

The Council expressed its stern condemnation and absolute denunciation of these “cowardly terrorist attacks,” considering them a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, an aggressive and reprehensible act, and a confirmation of the criminal pattern the militia has persisted in, namely the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as the threat to security and stability in the region.

The statement affirmed the Council of Arab Interior Ministers’ full solidarity and complete support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the measures it is taking to safeguard its resources, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory. (End) S.B.M./R.J.
