Lebanese Army: Our units are deployed in areas where there is no presence of Israeli occupation forces

Beirut, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Army affirmed on Tuesday that its military units are deployed across all areas where there is no presence of Israeli occupation forces, particularly in the Nabatieh region, denying reports circulating in some media outlets about a new deployment. In a statement, the Lebanese Army command said that military forces are stationed at their posts “whether before the current events or during the current phase,” noting that it has intensified its missions in several areas in the south of the country. It added that the deployment of its units in southern Lebanon aims to reassure residents living in their villages, stressing the importance of referring to official sources for accurate information.

On the ground developments, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli occupation’s air force renewed its aerial strikes, targeting the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa twice “in less than a quarter of an hour,” in addition to the town of Kafr Kanna, as well as low-altitude reconnaissance flights by drones over the Zahrani area in southern Lebanon. The agency noted that artillery shelling by the Israeli occupation targeted the town of Sarbineh in the Bint Jbeil district, as well as the areas of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Doha Kafr Rumman in the south. It added that Israeli occupation forces carried out two large explosions in the southern Lebanese towns of Kafr Kanna and Zouitir al-Sharqiya. (End) f z / r j
