Kuwait Shooting Club Honors Winners of the Final Training Championship in Collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports
Kuwait City, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, today Tuesday honored the winners of the final championship of training courses covering the 10-meter air rifle, 10-meter air pistol, and archery events, in cooperation with the General Authority for Youth and Sports.
In the men’s category, shooter Mohammed Al-Ajmi won first place in the 10-meter air rifle event, while shooter Fawaz Al-Mutairi took first place in the 10-meter air pistol event. Shooter Mohammed Al-Qattan secured first place in the archery event.
In the women’s category, shooter Fatima Al-Haddad won first place in the 10-meter air rifle event, and shooter Nada Al-Rashidi claimed first place in the 10-meter air pistol event. Shooter Joud Al-Rashidi won first place in the archery event.
Speaking to the press on this occasion, Engineer Al-Otaibi said that the Kuwait Shooting Club annually organizes summer training courses aimed at welcoming young men and women and teaching them the fundamentals of shooting sports in rifle, pistol, and archery disciplines. He added that the club assigns a select group of experienced and competent coaches and supervisors to these courses to hone participants’ talents and develop their technical skills and abilities, thereby helping to identify promising athletes capable of continuing their careers in shooting.
He clarified that shooters who achieve outstanding results during these courses will benefit from continuous training programs at the Kuwait Shooting Club throughout the year, aimed at developing their skills and preparing them appropriately to eventually join the national teams and contribute their abilities to upcoming competitions.
Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, the General Authority for Youth and Sports, and the working committees at the Shooting School for their support and efforts, which contribute to the success of these programs and the expansion of shooting sports participation in the country.
He expressed hope that Kuwaiti sports would continue its progress and distinctive presence at both regional and international levels, reaffirming the Kuwait Shooting Club’s commitment to continuing its work in discovering talents and preparing new generations capable of representing Kuwait with distinction.
For his part, player Mohammed Al-Qattan told KUNA about his great happiness at winning first place in the archery event, emphasizing that this victory serves as a major motivation for him to continue training and improving his performance in the coming period. Al-Qattan noted that the competition featured outstanding levels among participants, and that his win was the result of commitment to training and benefiting from the guidance of the technical staff. He thanked the coaches for their support and follow-up throughout the preparation period.
He added that archery requires high concentration, precision, and stability, and that his participation in the championship provided him with significant experience and helped strengthen his confidence in his abilities, especially after successfully achieving first place for the first time. He affirmed that his ambitions would not stop at this achievement; he looks forward to continuing to develop his level, participating in more championships, and achieving outstanding results in the future, expressing hope to represent Kuwait in international competitions and attain further accomplishments.
