(Ministry of Interior): 21 fuel tankers and a truck used in the theft and trafficking of subsidized diesel were seized

Kuwait City, 8 Sept (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the destruction of 21 fuel tankers and a truck seized in two separate cases for their use in stealing subsidized diesel fuel, collecting it, transporting it, and reselling it. In a press statement, the ministry said the destruction operation involved eight tankers and trucks in the first case and 13 in the second, following the registration of the cases and the completion of all legal procedures and public prosecution measures related to the seized items. It added that it was revealed that some tanker owners had rented them out under a “package deal” arrangement, fully aware that they would be used for this illegal activity, thereby facilitating the collection, transport, and trafficking of stolen diesel. The ministry emphasized that these measures were taken under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, and are part of efforts to combat these crimes, protect public funds, deter anyone who uses machinery and equipment to commit offenses or makes them available to others while knowing they will be used for illegal activities, and further consolidate respect for the law and safeguard state resources.
