British Prime Minister and Chinese President Discuss Bilateral Partnership

London, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the bilateral partnership between the United Kingdom and China, as well as enhancing the interests of both countries and addressing shared global challenges, on Tuesday. The British government said in a statement that the two sides reaffirmed during a phone call their commitment to a comprehensive strategic partnership characterized by continuity and stability in the long term, based on their status as major economic powers and permanent members of the UN Security Council. The statement added that officials discussed ways to achieve joint economic growth and improve living standards for the populations of both countries.
