Director of the Applied College: Committed to Aligning Education and Training Outcomes with Labor Market Needs
Kuwait, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- The Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, affirmed on Monday the authority’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships with government entities and aligning the outputs of education and training with labor market needs, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified national cadres for vital sectors and future projects.
This statement came in a statement by Dr. Al-Fajam following his meeting with a delegation from the General Directorate of Customs, led by the Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Fatima Al-Qallaf, to discuss ways to enhance academic and training cooperation and to develop programs and specializations that meet the needs of customs work and the labor market.
Al-Fajam explained that cooperation with the General Directorate of Customs aims to introduce specialized programs and disciplines that align with actual work requirements, the state’s development plans, and future projects. He emphasized the importance of enhancing integration among government entities and educational and training institutions to improve the efficiency of national cadres.
For her part, Al-Qallaf stressed the importance of developing curricula and training programs related to customs work to keep pace with modern requirements. She highlighted the need to incorporate Gulf and international customs laws and regulations, alongside skills in customs auditing, inspection, security, and safety.
The two sides discussed during the meeting admission conditions and proposed specializations in line with the state’s development plans and future projects, including Kuwait International Airport (Terminal 2), the railway network, and the Shuwaikh Port. They also discussed forming a joint committee to prepare a comprehensive vision for cooperation and to follow up on the implementation of joint programs and initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides affirmed their continued coordination to enhance integration between the outputs of education and training and the needs of government sectors, contributing to raising the efficiency of national cadres in customs fields.
The General Directorate of Customs delegation included Mohammed Al-Muwaisiri, Director of the Office of the Deputy Director General for Administrative, Financial, and Technical Affairs.
