India holds consultative meeting to discuss its relations with West Asian countries

New Delhi, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- India held a meeting of its Advisory Committee on Relations with West Asian countries today, Monday, in the capital, New Delhi, to explore ways to enhance cooperation and ties with the countries of the region. Indian Foreign Minister E. S. Jaishankar said in a press statement that he chaired the committee meeting, highlighting the deep relations linking his country with the Gulf states and the West Asian and North African regions. Jaishankar added that the meeting focused on partnerships and long-standing cooperation between India and the countries of the region in areas such as trade, investments, energy, maritime transport, and people-to-people ties. He clarified that the meeting also discussed New Delhi’s efforts to safeguard the interests of approximately 10 million Indians in the region, ensure energy and fertilizer security, and boost trade and connectivity amid the ongoing conflict in the area.
