Dubai, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Minister of Finance, Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai, chaired the Kuwait delegation participating in the 15th edition of the AIM Congress 2026 investment summit, held in the Emirate of Dubai.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance said in a statement that the delegation includes Kuwait’s Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Khaled Al-Zayani, and the General Director of Economic Affairs at the ministry, Saad Al-Rashidi.

The ministry added that the summit is held under the patronage of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under the theme “Reshaping Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Pathways Toward a Sustainable and Inclusive Future.” It brings together heads of state and government, finance and economy ministers, government officials, policymakers, central bank governors, and leaders of financial and investment institutions from around the world.

The ministry clarified that the summit’s proceedings opened with a speech by Sheikh Saud Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who emphasized that geopolitical changes and shifts in supply chains contribute to shaping new economic and investment visions.

It added that UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, in a similar address, stressed that geopolitical and technological transformations are reshaping global trade and supply chains, opening avenues for new investment opportunities. He highlighted the importance of technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainability in supporting economic growth and future investments.

The ministry noted that Ethiopian President Taye Atske Selassie, in his speech, outlined the investment opportunities abundant in the African continent, emphasizing the importance of project sustainability, particularly in the sectors of minerals, infrastructure, human capital, and exports.

The ministry pointed out that the summit discusses several topics related to the future of investment and the global economy, including foreign direct investment, global markets, development financing, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, support for startups, future cities, infrastructure development, and sustainability, alongside investment policies and business environment development.

It added that the summit’s agenda includes ministerial sessions, high-level dialogues, roundtables, and specialized workshops, as well as bilateral meetings bringing together government representatives, investors, financial institutions, and international companies, with the aim of enhancing cooperation opportunities and building investment partnerships.

The ministry affirmed that the 15th edition of the summit constitutes an important international platform for strengthening communication between governments, the private sector, and investors, and for converting dialogues among participating parties into actionable investment opportunities and practical partnerships.
