Palestinian youth martyred and two others injured by settlers' gunfire in the West Bank

Ramallah, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Monday that a Palestinian youth was martyred and two others were injured by settlers’ gunfire in the village of Hajja, east of Qalqilya in the West Bank. The ministry said in a press statement that 20-year-old Omar Tubas died from his wounds sustained during a settler attack on the village. For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams responded to three gunshot wounds: one to the head, which resulted in the death of the victim; a 17-year-old boy was injured in the thigh; and another young man was injured in the chest. Meanwhile, the Anti-Wall and Resistance Commission stated that armed settlers fired at homes in the village. Settler attacks, protected by the Israeli occupation army, are escalating in the West Bank, ranging from killings and the burning of homes, property, agricultural crops, and vehicles, to land confiscation, the establishment of outposts, and the seizure of land for the construction of settlements by the occupation government.
