(Union of Football) Announces the List of the National Olympic Team Participating in the (Aichi-Nagoya) Asian Games This Month

Kuwait City, Sept 6 (KUNA) — The Kuwait Football Association announced on Sunday the squad of the national Olympic team participating in the 20th Asian Games, to be held in the cities of Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, and scheduled to kick off on September 19.

In a statement, the association said that Olympic team coach David Donaghy selected 23 players, including Dhafer Al-Masri, Abdulrahman Ajaj, Abdulridha Shahab, Hamad Al-Sanousi, Bandar Al-Barazi, Ahmad Boudi, Muntaser Al-Abdulsalam, Ali Hassan, Jasem Al-Anzi, Bandar Al-Salameh, and Jasem Al-Shamouh.

The list also includes players Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Omar Al-Mutairi, Abdullah Fares, Saleh Al-Mutab, Talal Al-Qaissy, Muath Al-Asim, Eid Al-Azmi, Ahmad Khorshid, Mohammed Al-Sarihi, Fawaz Al-Mubarak, Nasser Khader, and Mohammed Al-Sharif.

Football competitions at the Asian Games will run from September 19 to October 4. Kuwait was drawn in Group C alongside Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

The men’s tournament will feature 15 teams following Iraq’s withdrawal, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
