"Security and History Dialogue" Conference: Security is a Fundamental Pillar for Saudi Arabia's Stability and Development
Riyadh, Sept 6 (KUNA) -- Ahmed Al-Tuwaijani, the general supervisor of the “Security and History Dialogue 2026” conference, affirmed today that security has served as a fundamental pillar for stability, development, and state-building throughout the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He stressed the importance of documenting this journey and enhancing awareness of it among successive generations.
Speaking at the conference, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Interior at the Culture Palace in Riyadh under the theme “Our History and Our Future: Security and Prosperity,” and hosted by Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, Al-Tuwaijani noted that the event brings together more than 160 speakers, including leaders, officials, experts, researchers, and academics from within and outside the Kingdom. He described the conference as a national platform for examining the Kingdom’s history in the fields of security and development.
He added that the conference aims to produce documented knowledge content that strengthens national identity, citizenship values, and a sense of belonging, while showcasing the Kingdom’s security journey from the establishment of the First Saudi State to the present day. It highlights the role of security in building state institutions, consolidating stability, and supporting development and prosperity.
Al-Tuwaijani clarified that the conference also discusses topics such as national awareness, cultural security, and the contribution of security to supporting investment, creating opportunities, and improving the quality of life.
Running until September 8, the conference features more than 65 dialogue sessions and interactive meetings, alongside various events and knowledge-based and cultural experiences that highlight the security journey throughout the history of the Saudi state.
The conference opened with the screening of an introductory film outlining its objectives and scientific program. The Saudi Interior Minister toured the accompanying exhibition, reviewing the pavilions of participating entities and the knowledge-based, historical, and interactive experiences they presented.
