Kuwait Premier League (Zain): Al-Salmiya defeats Al-Sahel 1-0 in Round 3

Kuwait City, Sept 6 (KUNA) -- Al-Salmiya Club defeated its counterpart Al-Sahel 1-0 at Thamer Stadium in the third round of the Zain Premier League. The match saw Al-Sahel come under pressure from the host side, Al-Salmiya, which launched several attacks that allowed it to reach the goal but lacked the final touch to score. Meanwhile, Al-Sahel attempted to close down spaces on the pitch and defended well, ending the first half goalless. In the second half, Al-Salmiya continued to press and managed to score through Omar Ali in the 70th minute after applying high pressure on an Al-Sahel defender, who made a mistake while clearing the ball, enabling Omar to net the winning goal. This is Al-Salmiya’s second consecutive victory, following its win against Al-Tadamun in the previous round, after it had stumbled against Al-Nasr and lost in the opening round. As for Al-Sahel, this is its first defeat, after beating Al-Salibikhaat in the previous round and drawing with Kazma in the first round.
