(Ministry of Interior): Two individuals arrested with 163 bags suspected of containing heroin

Kuwait City, Sept. 6 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the arrest of two individuals in the Salmiya area, in possession of 163 bags suspected of containing the narcotic heroin, as part of ongoing security efforts to combat the scourge of drug trafficking and apprehend its distributors. In a press statement, the ministry said the arrest took place during a reconnaissance patrol by a security unit in the area, as the suspects attempted to flee and discard the bags before security forces could subdue them. The ministry added that the seized items were distributed with 75 bags in the possession of the first suspect and 88 bags with the second suspect, noting that both individuals and the confiscated materials were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.
