Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Condemns Plans to Displace the Palestinian People

Jeddah, September 6 (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, strongly condemned on Sunday the racist remarks made by ministers in the Israeli occupation government regarding the plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the Secretary-General affirmed that such statements constitute ethnic cleansing and a grave violation of international law, amounting to a crime against humanity that warrants accountability and prosecution before competent international judicial bodies. He further stressed that the Gaza Strip is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territories, warning of the dangers of these Israeli schemes aimed at uprooting the Palestinian people from their land, which directly threaten regional and international peace and security and undermine international efforts to achieve peace based on the two-state solution. He called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take deterrent measures against the Israeli occupation’s plans to alter the demographic, geographical, and political realities in the occupied Palestinian territories, considering such actions null and void and illegal under relevant UN resolutions. He emphasized the necessity of completing the implementation phases of the peace plan in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2803, ensuring adequate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, achieving a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, and realizing peace based on the two-state solution, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
