(Ministry of Interior): A Kuwaiti national arrested in possession of various quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances with intent to traffic

Kuwait City, Sept 6 (KUNA) — The Ministry of Interior, through its Criminal Security Sector, announced the arrest of a Kuwaiti national in possession of various quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances intended for trafficking, along with a firearm and ammunition.
In a press statement on Sunday, the Ministry said the arrest followed necessary investigations that confirmed the suspect’s possession of the seized substances for the purpose of trafficking. He was apprehended inside one of the stables rented to him in the Farwaniyah Stables area. The search operations also extended to another location in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area.
The Ministry clarified that the searches resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of hashish, 3,500 capsules of Larica (a psychoactive substance), around 1,000 sheets soaked with the synthetic drug “Chemical,” and 50 grams of methamphetamine (Shabu). Additionally, a pistol-type firearm, ammunition, and four sensitive scales were seized.
The statement noted that the stable was rented to the suspect in violation of its designated purpose. The owner of the property is being summoned, and the relevant authority has been contacted to initiate procedures for the revocation of the lease. The Ministry emphasized that any property proven to be exploited for purposes other than its designated use will be revoked, and appropriate legal measures will be taken against the violators.
The suspect and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions. (End) H.M. / A.M.H.
