Minister of Youth and Sports Honors Kuwaiti Youths Who Achieved Accomplishments in Various Sports and Scientific Fields

Kuwait City, Sept 6 (KUNA) — The Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, today honored a number of Kuwaiti youth who excelled in various sports and scientific fields, raising Kuwait’s name at international forums. The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, in the presence of the participants’ parents and supervisors.
In a statement on the occasion, Minister Al-Jalahma emphasized the Authority’s commitment to continuing its support for Kuwaiti youth across diverse sports and scientific domains, and to providing a suitable environment for honing their skills and motivating them to achieve further successes that reflect Kuwait’s bright image on the international stage. He noted that this recognition aligns with the Authority’s dedication to nurturing and encouraging national talents, while also underscoring the family’s role in supporting Kuwaiti youth on their path toward greater achievements in upcoming competitions.
The honors included the accomplishments of the Kuwait national table tennis team, which won multiple medals at the West Asia Women’s Championship held in Jordan, as well as the World’s Strongest Man competition in South Africa, where the national team secured an honorable silver medal for Kuwait. Additionally, the Kuwait national bowling team’s outstanding performances at Asian championships, which yielded a variety of medals and enhanced Kuwait’s standing in the sport, were recognized.
On the scientific front, students from the Ministry of Education who participated in the International Earth Science Olympiad held in Turin, Italy, were celebrated for winning eight scientific medals, further strengthening Kuwait’s position in global academic forums. (End) S.A.D./A.N.D.
