Lebanon announces that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression has risen to 4,358

Beirut, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- Lebanon announced on Saturday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli occupation’s aggression, which began on March 2, has risen to 4,358 across various areas of the country. In a statement, the Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that since March 2, the toll has reached 4,358 dead and 12,359 wounded. This brings the overall casualty count from the aggression since October 8, 2023, to 8,925 dead and 30,595 wounded.

On the ground developments, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation aircraft carried out two waves of strikes targeting the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, coinciding with an explosion in the town of Ma’arrab al-Jabal. The agency noted that occupation forces carried out more than 14 systematic bombing operations on the outskirts of Mansouri since morning, targeting the area of Meshaa’ al-Balad toward the town of Majdal Zoun in the Sidon district. The attacks involved drones dropping barrels containing powerful explosives on homes and infrastructure, as well as massive explosions in the town of Bani Hayan in the Marjeyoun district, and a drone dropping explosive materials on homes in Mansouri.

Southern Lebanon is witnessing continuous military and ground escalation, marked by escalating violations and clashes along the southern border since March 2, resulting in hundreds of casualties and the displacement of thousands of residents from border villages and towns, in addition to severe damage to infrastructure and property.
