Athletic Bilbao defeats Atletico Madrid 3-0 in La Liga

Madrid, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- Athletic Bilbao defeated their rivals Atletico Madrid 3-0 at the San Mames stadium on Saturday in the fourth round of the Spanish football league. Nico Williams opened the scoring for the home side in the 46th minute, and his teammate Robert Navarro added the second goal just two minutes later. In the final minute of regular time, midfielder Oihan Sancet scored the third goal for Athletic Bilbao, who took all three points to move up to sixth place with six points in the overall standings, while Atletico Madrid remained on seven points in sixth place. In the same round, runners-up Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 1-0 to Real Betis on Friday. Meanwhile, league leaders Barcelona will face Valencia on Sunday.
