17 Palestinians martyred in 48 hours in the Gaza Strip

Gaza, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- The health authorities in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that 17 Palestinians were martyred during the past 48 hours, including five new martyrs, one who died from his injuries, and 11 whose bodies were recovered from under the rubble.

In a daily statistical report, the health authorities stated that Gaza Strip hospitals received 27 injured people during the same period as a result of continuous Israeli occupation strikes on various sites across the Strip.

It added that the toll since the ceasefire began on October 11 last year rose to 1,344 martyrs and 4,464 injured, while the number of recovery operations reached 815 cases.

It clarified that the cumulative number of martyrs since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, rose to 73,651, while the total number of injured reached 174,575 people.

It pointed out that the presence of victims under the rubble makes it impossible to reach them due to limited resources. (End) WAB / TMA
