Director of the Joint Programs: Gulf media production is not complete merely by its creation, but also by its reaching the audience

Kuwait City, 5 Sep (KUNA) — The Director General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Common Production Program Organization, Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, emphasized that Gulf media production is not complete merely by its creation, but also by its reach to the audience. He pointed to the organization’s move to expand the dissemination of Gulf content and deliver it to the public through diverse viewing platforms.

Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the organization will make its program “Sofa Routes” available on the entertainment screens aboard Kuwait Airways flights starting the day after tomorrow, Monday, as part of a collaboration between the organization and Kuwait’s national carrier.

He affirmed that the presence of “Sofa Routes” on Kuwait Airways flights represents a new step in the program’s journey, allowing passengers to enjoy distinctive Gulf content during their travels, thereby enhancing the presence of Gulf media production and broadening its reach to audiences within and beyond the region.

He noted that this step marks the beginning of a broader path for the organization, launching from its host country, Kuwait, to be followed by similar cooperation initiatives with both government and private Gulf airlines, opening new horizons for marketing and distributing Gulf content and reaching wider audience segments.

Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah added that “the organization is advancing in its vision, which places content quality at the forefront of its priorities, while simultaneously attaching equal importance to its marketing and dissemination. Gulf media production is not complete by its creation alone, but by its ability to reach the audience, achieve presence, and exert influence.”

He pointed out that the organization is working to diversify the platforms for showcasing its productions and expanding its partnerships with national, Gulf, and private sector entities, keeping pace with the rapid developments in the media industry and changing viewing patterns, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Gulf content and its ability to reach new spaces.

He confirmed that the coming phase will witness more initiatives and partnerships aimed at expanding the presence of Gulf program production and delivering it to audiences wherever they are, reflecting the shared Gulf identity and highlighting the wealth of creative and media talents and capabilities within the GCC member states.
