Kuwait Premier League (Zain): Al-Arabi Draws with Al-Salmiya (3-3) in Round 3

Kuwait City, Sept 4 (KUNA) — Al-Arabi drew 3-3 with Al-Salmiya on Friday in the third round of the Zain Premier League football tournament.

At Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, Al-Salmiya opened the scoring through Santos, who netted the first goal in the sixth minute. Al-Arabi equalized in the 13th minute through Kenan Maljko. Bandar Al-Salama then gave Al-Arabi the lead by scoring the second goal in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time.

In the second half, Al-Salmiya turned the tables against their hosts. Abdulaziz Al-Bushra scored the equalizer in the 56th minute, followed by Lucas Chaloun’s penalty kick goal in the 97th minute to put Al-Salmiya ahead.

In the dying moments, when everyone thought Al-Salmiya had snatched all three points, Al-Arabi’s Abdulwahab Al-Awadi scored a late equalizer in the 98th minute, securing a share of the points for both teams.

With this draw, Al-Arabi moved to two points, sitting ninth in the standings, while Al-Salmiya also reached two points, placing tenth.

The round’s matches resume tomorrow, Saturday, with Kuwait facing Al-Jahra and Fehaily playing against Al-Tadamun. The round concludes on Sunday when Al-Salmiya hosts Al-Sahel, and Al-Shabab takes on Kazma. (End) S.A.D./R.J.
