Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) reaffirms Kuwait's commitment to entrenching values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religions

Kuwait City, Sept 3 (KUNA) – Kuwait’s Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi, reaffirmed today, Thursday, Kuwait’s commitment to entrenching the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among different religions.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs stated in a press release that this position was expressed during the minister’s meeting with Fr. Suleiman Haifawi, the official spokesperson for the Catholic Church in Kuwait, during which the two exchanged views on several topics of mutual interest.

The release added that the meeting addressed the importance of strengthening the culture of dialogue and understanding, rejecting fanaticism, and contributing to social cohesion and the entrenchment of values of love, cooperation, and coexistence, in line with Kuwait’s guarantee of freedom of belief and the practice of religious rites within the frameworks and laws governing such activities.
