Russia discusses with China and Indonesia ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, and energy
Moscow, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with both China and Indonesia today, Thursday, expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, energy, and transport. The Russian presidency (the Kremlin) said in a statement that this came during talks held by President Putin with his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang at the general dialogue session on the sidelines of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum, which opened earlier this month in the Russian city of Vladivostok and concludes tomorrow, Friday.
The statement quoted Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang as saying during the talks that Russia-China cooperation is yielding results under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Ding affirmed China’s readiness to fully implement agreements reached between the leaderships of Russia and China, calling for the creation of suitable conditions for Russian and Chinese companies to develop regional cooperation. He expressed China’s willingness to cooperate with Russia within a joint plan in the investment sector, welcoming the active expansion of Russian companies in the Chinese market.
The Chinese Vice Premier also expressed his country’s hope that President Putin would attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Forum scheduled for November next year.
The statement also quoted the Indonesian President as saying that Moscow and Jakarta can successfully cooperate in the economic field and work to increase the volume of trade between the two countries, which reached five billion dollars in 2025, noting that Indonesia benefits from cooperation with Russia in the energy sector. He clarified that Indonesia is exploring all possible avenues for cooperation with Russia in the energy sector, pointing out that his country has opened 130 sites for mineral exploration. He invited Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian companies to visit Indonesia at the earliest opportunity to expand the scope of Russian investments there.
For his part, President Putin, in his speech at the dialogue session, said that foreign investments are flowing into Russia and are directed toward projects of interest to the foreign business community, and that they will help reactivate investment in light of economic stability and the creation of necessary conditions to achieve this, emphasizing continued communication with the business sector. He clarified that the situation in the Russian banking sector is stable and that the growth of the Russian economy has been continuous over the past three years, “and may exceed the expected rate of 0.6 percent.”
President Putin noted that the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises to the Russian economy is continuously increasing, and that Russia, as the world’s largest country by area, attaches great importance to transport lines and logistics services. He added that Russia “not only speaks about the importance of developing small nuclear power plants, but is the only country in the world that is building them.”
On the Ukrainian issue, President Putin said that Russia and Ukraine must first reach an agreement between themselves, expressing his country’s gratitude to anyone who tries to contribute to resolving the conflict with Ukraine. (End) D.A.N / N.B.Sh
